Discover Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco
A visit to
Fisherman's Wharf
is at the top of everyone's list on a trip to San Francisco, and for good reason, so many of our city's top sites are here. From whimsical shops to esteemed restaurants to activities that are fun for the whole family, this area has something for everyone (truly). Amaze little ones with ice cream fountains and over-the-top chocolate sundaes at
Ghirardelli Square,
then run off all that sugar on the various piers around, like
Pier 39
or Aquatic Park Pier. Check out our recommendations for additional
family-friendly
activities nearby.
So Many Things to Do in Fisherman's Wharf
Speaking of Pier 39, those famous sea lions hang out here so make sure you wave hello. Bring spare change to Musée Mécanique, where more than 300 antique arcade games from the early days of Fisherman's Wharf, await. Then check out Northern California's marine life at the
Aquarium of the Bay,
or pose with your favorite celebrity at Madame Tussauds (psst...book discounted tickets

). Join a historic walking tour to dig into the history of the area (and help digest all those delicious eats). Take in a street performer showcase along the waterfront. Grab one of our bikes to explore on two wheels. We're lucky that Fisherman's Wharf is located just outside our door with the main hub only 0.1 miles away, a mere two-minute walk from our hotel.
